Swiss System seven (7) rounds
For Group A & B, accelerated system- the pairings of first round will be done in 3 virtual groups 25%, 50%, 25% according to the starting rank of the players at each group.
Open Α Chess Players with Fide International Rating more than or equal to 1800
Open Β Chess Players with Fide International Rating less than 1800
Open C Chess Players with Fide International Rating less than or equal to 1200
Open D Chess Players under 8 years old (U8 - born on or after 1/1/2012)
Time Control :
For A & B Group : A hundred (100) minutes for the whole game, plus thirty (30) seconds per move (from the first move).
For C & D Group : Ninety (90) minutes for the whole game, plus thirty (30) seconds per move (from the first move).
Players arriving thirty (30’) minutes and more, after the scheduled start of a round, shall be forfeited.

Entry Fees OPEN Α: 45€, OPEN Β: 35€, OPEN C: 30€ OPEN D: 25€
Male Players with titles GM, IM, female players with titles WGM and WIM : free on Entry Fee.
Disabled people : free on Entry Fee optionally.
Chess players with Fide rating more than 2200 and female chess players with Fide rating more than 2000, entry fee 30€.
Special prices for families :
For 2 members of the same family, total discount 10%.
For 3 and more members of the same family, total discount 20%.
The organizers’ wish for the chess players is, to participate in the groups, according to their Fide Rating. However, for those who wish to participate in the A group but do not have the appropriate rating, the entry fee is 90€.
For those who wish to participate in B group but belong to C group, the entry fee is 70€.

For chess players from abroad and those who don’t wish to conclude the payment via bank, the entry fee can also be paid at the playing venue and in particular:
Wednesday 25 February 18:00 – 21:00 & Thursday 26 February 11:00-15:00
The pairings of 1st round will be done on Thursday 27 February at 15:30 and will be announced at chess-results.
Players who will not finalize their participation on time, will participate in the second (2nd) round.
The limit for entries is set at 320 players.
The prizes cannot be shared and are attributed to the winners, according to the final ranking.
In case, one player deserves more than one prize, he/she will only be rewarded with the higher valued one (in accordance to: money prize, trophy for final ranking, trophy for special categories, medal for final ranking).
The winners missing from the closing ceremony lose their right to the prizes.
Tie-breaks System definitions :
- Sum of the scores of each of the opponents of a player (Buchholz)
- Sum of the scores of each of the opponents according to the result (Sonneborn-Berger)
- Sum of the Buchholz scores of the opponents
Εxceptions – Byes :
Byes with half a point are available until the 3rd round and without a point for the rest of the tournament. The exception should be asked not later than ten (10) minutes after the end of his/her last game.
Exception at 1st round can get anyone who has prepaid the entry fee.
Unjustified absence from any round will result in the expulsion from the tournament.
Any player unable to play a round shall notify the arbiters within ten (10) minutes after the end of his/her last game.
The time schedule cannot be changed for any reason.
Appeals - Appeals Committee :
Appeals shall be submitted, in written form to the Appeals Committee, no later than 10 minutes from the end of the playing session of each round. This Committee will be consisted of 3 members and 2 substitute ones, chosen among the participants or not. The Committee’s members related to the players involved in the complaint, will be excluded from the Committee and will be replaced by substitutes. The cost of the appeal is 45€ for A Group, 35€ for B Group, 30€ for C Group and 25€ for D Group and can be submitted to the tournament director or the chief arbiter.
The fee is totally refunded if the appeal becomes accepted. If not, the fee goes in favor of the organization.
The Appeals Committee will be announced before the start of the 1st Round.
